Food rescue helps our soup kitchen cook and serve upwards of 1,500 nutritious meals each week, keeping our guests fed, reducing wasted food, and benefiting the environment.
With your support, we can leverage the generosity of our volunteers to save and transform an abundance of good food into nutritious meals for all.
We’d like to share a touching story that demonstrates just how important it is to make sure good food stays out of the landfill. The comic book below was written and illustrated by Our Daily Bread’s Kat Heilman, Director of Communications.

The City of Cincinnati Green Plan shared that in 2021, Cincinnati sent 12,592 tons of food waste to landfills, while 33% of our local families remain food insecure. It is a source of great pride for us that every bite of the food we serve is rescued or donated.
Consider a donation today through June 15th to ensure that we have everyone and everything we need to do our work, including skilled staff, water, electricity, heat, gloves, aprons and more.
