Our Daily Bread is excited to announce some good news. Last week social work client Stephanie Reed graduated with her high school diploma at the age of 69. Ms. Reed, who visits with Social Worker Pam Lewis from time-to-time, only seeking out services when she is really in need, was ecstatic to share the news with our staff, “It’s not a GED! It’s an actual High School Diploma.”
Ms. Lewis was equally excited to hear the news of Ms. Reed’s success, “The fact that she went back to school–I have the utmost respect for Stephanie – she is a lovely human being with a nice personality and a kind heart. I couldn’t be happier for her.”
Reed received her diploma through the 22+ Adult Diploma Program a fully accredited free high school diploma program offered through Dohn Community School. Dohn is one of twenty such programs in Ohio and the sole provider in Cincinnati. The program is for persons 22 years of age or older. Reed’s graduation took place at New Prospect Baptist Church on Summit Road in Roselawn.
We are so proud of Ms. Reed’s achievement. She is an inspiration to us all.
