100% of Our Daily Bread guests live well below the Federal poverty levels, with over 50% identifying as homeless. As such, we meet many people who have needs beyond what a hot meal can fix. Our social workers help guests work toward a more secure existence assisting them with navigating the social service system for vital services such as shelter, food, clothing, job readiness training, and mental and physical healthcare. They also facilitate guests acquiring what they need (birth certificate, driver license, bus fare, background checks, uniforms, etc.) in order to find and maintain employment. Finally, thanks to a generous grant, we are able to provide emergency rental and utility assistance that help prevent individuals and families from becoming homeless.
